Animal Welfare
Our underlying ethic of animal welfare is a huge reason why Bow and Bear Cornwall exists. We humans need to fight for animal rights, be their voice and reduce suffering.
Our vision is that the customer base of Bow and Bear Cornwall will become the largest single contributor to improving animal welfare globally. We need you to be a part of this journey, we cannot do this alone.
Every time a customer buys Bow and Bear Cornwall dog food and products you will be helping us in our global mission to improve animal welfare and your dog will be helping other animal friends. We donate at least 10% of our profits to animal welfare charities and causes at home and overseas to support and improve animal welfare across the world. Please see below our work in action in giving our first donation to Ocean Acres, a dog and cat sanctuary in Barbados with our CEO Carly Ward.

Ocean Acres, Barbados
The world has endured the devastating effects of COVID-19. Barbados is a small island dependent on tourism and people have struggled financially. This has had a serious impact on animal welfare with a momentous rise in pet surrenders, neglect and abandonment. Ocean Acres Animal Sanctuary rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes stray, abandoned and unwanted puppies, dogs, kittens, cats and even tortoises (land-turtles). Currently sheltering over 250+ animals. Karen Whitaker is the force behind this unbelievable organisation and Carly Ward was honoured to share some of her time whilst on the island.

Karen and Carly
Carly was proud and excited to make our first donation to Ocean Acres and could not have witnessed a more dedicated and deserving charity as Ocean Acres. In July 2021 Bow and Bear Cornwall gave Ocean Acres £1,680 towards essential supplies. Please take a look at Karen's work - the first 'Freedom Flight' where Karen sent over 200 dogs (ruffugees) to forever homes in Canada, all on one flight, incredible.
